map What is a location QR code?

A location QR code encodes GPS coordinates or a place name in the format geo:latitude, longitude. When scanned, the smartphone opens the default maps app (Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc.) directly at that location.

It is ideal for local businesses, events with a physical venue, direction signs and any situation where you want someone to easily reach a specific place without typing the address.
